Paris Saint-Germain may be willing to let Neymar go this summer, but they are certainly not going to let him go cheaply.
According to Le Parisien, the Ligue 1 champions want an eye-watering €300 million if they are to part ways with their Brazil international after two seasons.
That represents an increase on the €222m Neymar cost PSG in 2017, even though recent reports have suggested his value has dropped by £62.5m over the last six months.
There are very few clubs in the world that can afford Neymar in any case but slapping such a huge price tag on the Brazilian makes any potential deal almost impossible.
Barcelona already have a crazy wage bill and are expected to splash out €120 million on Antoine Griezmann having reportedly already agreed a deal.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have invested heavily this summer in Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard and Ferland Mendy and there’s talk of a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba too.
Previous reports from Brazil had suggested Barca were talking about a possible €100m plus a player move, with Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho mentioned.
Either way what is crystal clear is that if Barcelona and Neymar are set to be united this summer it is going to be a complicated and very expensive transfer.
