Barcelona have reportedly turned down an approach from Celta Vigo for 19-year-old defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Galicians had been discussing a move with Barcelona for midfielder Denis Suarez when they also dropped in the name of Todibo.

However, Celta were quickly given a resounding no from Barcelona who are keen to keep hold of the youngster.

Todibo arrived at the Camp Nou in January after a move from Toulouse was brought forward and managed two La Liga appearances for the club against Huesca and Celta.

There had been rumors Todibo could leave in the summer transfer window if Matthijs de Ligt arrived from Ajax. However, the Dutchman looks set for Juventus, meaning Todibo could get a chance to impress next season.

There are high expectations that the teenager can go on and flourish at Barcelona, and he will hopefully get more first-team opportunities next season.
