Sassuolo’s CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, reckons that Barcelona will take up their option to buy Kevin-Prince Boateng and will then look to move him on.
Boateng arrived at Barcelona in January on loan in a deal that raised plenty of eyebrows, but he managed just four appearances and barely made an impact at the Camp Nou.
The 32-year-old’s deal included an €8 million purchase option which Carnevali expects Barca to take up.
“I don’t think we’ll see him again, it’s difficult,” he said.
“I think Barcelona will buy him and maybe move him on to another Spanish team: he’ll probably stay in La Liga.”

Boateng’s contract expired at the end of the season, and it was expected that he would leave the club along with Thomas Vermaelen, Jeison Murillo and Douglas Pereira who are also out of contract.
