Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has denied a recent report that he called Ousmane Dembele to try to convince him to move to the French champions.

French newspaper Le Parisien reported that Tuchel had been on the phone to Dembele over this summer but that the forward had told him he wanted to stay at Barca.

Tuchel was asked about the Barcelona star after PSG’s pre-season friendly draw with Nurnberg and said he has not been in touch recently.

“We can’t create facts there,” he said. “We had a phone call one year ago, when I was in Singapore. No, we have not had a phone call for one year.”

Meanwhile, Neymar once again missed out for PSG amid continued speculation over a return to Barcelona.

Tuchel did not say much about the Brazilian but did reckon he would train with the team on Sunday ahead of their next friendly against Inter Milan.
