Philippe Coutinho says he hopes he can stay at Bayern Munich for a long time after sealing a season-long loan to the Bundesliga champions.

The Brazilian was unveiled at his new club on Monday and spoke in a press conference about his desire to stay after a tough spell at Barcelona.

“Concerning Barcelona, things didn’t work out the way we wanted,” he said.

”But that’s the past. This is a new club, a big club, an important club. I hope I’ll be here for a long time and win lots of titles.”

Coutinho’s loan deal does include an option to buy. However, the price is set at €120 million, and he is going to have to go some to persuade Bayern to part with that kind of cash.
