Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen says Lionel Messi deserves to be able to decide his own future and is convinced the GOAT is happy at the Camp Nou.
It has emerged this week that Messi has a clause in his contract that allows him to walk away from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
There is no suggestion at all that Messi is planning on leaving Barcelona any time soon, and Ter Stegen says he will tell him to stay at the club.
“I think he deserves to have this opportunity, to be able to decide his future,” he said.
”The easiest thing for us is to tell him to stay, because he is a key part of the team. I am convinced that he feels comfortable at the club and the city, and it’s hard for him to move.
”Personally I want him to stay, but I don’t decide. We’re going to tell him to stay and we hope he does.”
