Erling Braut Haaland is apparently being scouted by some pretty big fish. According to Mundo Deportivo and Salzburger Nachrichten, both Manchester United and Barcelona have been peeking at the player as he began his Champions League career this week. Haaland scored a hat-trick in his debut this week for Red Bull Salzburg in a 6-2 win over KRC Genk.

The 19-year-old striker was born in Leeds, England to Alf-Inge Håland, a Manchester City and Leeds United defender. He represents Norway internationally, and most recently played incredibly well for Norway’s U20’s in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

United and Barcelona having both begun initial scouting on the player are sure to make for an interesting race. Next summer seems to be the point in which his stock will reach an all time high, should he keep putting hat-tricks away in European competition.
