Barcelona confirmed on Friday that Carles Perez has extended his deal with the club which now runs until June 2022.

There are few details offered about his contract extension, but recent reports have claimed it contains a buyout clause of €100 million.

Perez has made an impact with the first team in the early weeks of the new campaign after impressing during the club’s pre-season tour.

He has featured in five of Barca’s six La Liga games and scored in the 5-2 win over Real Betis at the Camp Nou.

Perez has been a useful asset in attack during injuries to Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele, but it remains to be seen how much game time he will see when the trio are all fit again.
