Ousmane Dembele’s reasons for turning down a move to PSG this summer have been revealed by French newspaper L’Equipe. Dembele was of course the center of what PSG wanted in return for a Neymar transfer. The deal kept getting held up because of Dembele’s lack of interest in moving to Paris.

The real reason is apparently that one of his dreams is to win the Ballon d’Or at Barcelona. Despite the players who will be fighting to take his spot and playing time, he seems to relish the competition.

“I don’t care who comes in, competition doesn’t scare me; I will fight to succeed here,” Dembele is reported to have said.

There are a plethora of obstacles in the way of Dembele achieving this goal while at the club. Mainly, the obstacles seem to be himself and his injury history. However, if Dembele can stay healthy, he’s shown the flashes of being able to make magical things happen.
