Giroud could give Barcelona someone who is experienced in big games, without expecting to be the long-term solution for the club. A loan option from Chelsea would likely be the best move for both sides.

A loan move gives Barcelona some time to consider what the long-term striker solution looks like. Giroud could be a decent enough stop gap till Barcelona are more certain as to what the future holds.
