Jean-Clair Todibo is reportedly set to leave Barcelona in the January transfer window and head to Bundesliga side Schalke on a six-month loan.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Todibo has chosen Schalke ahead of AC Milan and will move to Germany in the hope of getting regular minutes.

The deal will not include a purchase option which means Todibo will return to Barcelona once the deal expires at the end of the season.

Bild are also reporting that Schalke sporting director Jochen Schneider left the club’s training camp to meet Barcelona and negotiate a deal for Todibo.

It seems the deal is not complete just yet, with Todibo now in Saudi Arabia with the rest of the Barcelona squad for the Spanish Super Cup.

If he does move to Schalke he will join Juan Miranda, who joined on a two-season loan in the summer, at the Bundesliga side.
