Barcelona boss Ronald Keoman has confirmed he wanted to bring Georginio Wijnaldum to the club in the summer transfer window.

There were plenty of rumors about a Barca move for the 29-year-old, although the Netherlands international has since played down talk of a transfer away from Anfield.

However, Koeman has given an interview to Dutch TV channel NOS where he’s admitted that “Wijnaldum was on my list.”

Koeman was also asked again about the possibility of landing Memphis Depay and answered “let’s hope we have a second Dutchman on the squad.”

Barcelona failed with a deadline-day move for Depay but could go back in for the Lyon captain when the window reopens in January.

The forward has spoken about the possibility of joining Barcelona and has warned the Catalan giants he expects other clubs to be interested in his services.
