Pep Guardiola has made it crystal clear that he is not thinking about returning to Barcelona to take charge of the club again.

There’s been a bit of talk about Guardiola coming home in the future with presidential candidate Victor Font regularly talking up a move for the former boss.

Guardiola was asked about his former club once again on Saturday after Manchester City’s Premier League win over Sheffield United and ruled out coming back to the Camp Nou.

“My period as Barcelona manager is over. I think once in a lifetime you have to do things,

“There are incredible people who can be in charge there, now for example Ronald Koeman. It’s over, I will come back to my city to see my club, to watch the game, it’s done.”

Guardiola’s in the final year of his contract with the Citizens, and it’s not clear yet if he will extend his stay. He said last month he’d “love to stay longer here” but also added he thinks has to “deserve” more time at the club.
