Ousmane Dembele’s name has been back in the headlines in recent days over a possible late move before the transfer window shuts, but the latest update suggests he will he staying at the Camp Nou.
According to Cadena SER, there was some substance to the Dembele leaving rumors, but it’s now been decided the 23-year-old is going nowhere.
Manchester United had been heavily linked with Dembele but now appear set to bring in Edinson Cavani to boost their front line instead.
Manager Ronald Koeman spoke about Dembele in his presser today and did make it pretty clear he faced real competition for minutes this season with Ansu Fati, Pedri, Francisco Trincao, and Antoine Griezmann in the squad.
Dembele did feature in Barca’s win over Villarreal but wasn’t used at all against Celta on Thursday night. It will be interesting to see if he gets any game time against Sevilla in what is Barca’s final fixture before the latest international break.
