Barcelona are set to confirm goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has signed a new contract with the club that runs until 2025 shortly.

The Germany international has been in talks over an extension for a while and admitted earlier this year that negotiations had been put on hold because of Covid-19.

Those talks now appear to have been completed and should be announced soon, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Ter Stegen has agreed an improved deal that runs until June 2025 and news his future has been secured will be welcomed at Barca after a difficult transfer window.

The 28-year-old is currently sidelined after undergoing knee surgery in August but is expected back towards the end of the month.

Back-up Neto has done a pretty good job in Ter Stegen’s absence in the first three games of the season, but there’s no doubt Barca will be happy to have the first choice back fit.
