There was speculation last week that Puig and Alena are both on the Barca “exit ramp,” and it’s no surprise to see Real Betis’s name crop up.
Betis expect Canales to be out for around 3-4 months and do have another couple of names on their list if negotiations with Barca do not go well.
Alena spent the second half of last season with the Verdiblancos and could well be tempted to head back there again in 2020-21 in search of regular minutes.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is also keen on Puig, although the 21-year-old is said to still be determined to stay at Barca and force his way into the team.
A lot could change between now and the opening of the window. Barca have been hit by injuries in recent days which could mean more chances for the young duo.
