There’s been plenty of talk about Barcelona bringing in a new center-back this season and the latest speculation suggests there is a new name in the frame.

Marseille’s 21-year-old defender Boubacar Kamara has apparently attracted the interest of the Catalan giants who will recommend his signing to the club’s new board, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The report reckons that the signing of Eric Garcia from Manchester City is pretty much a done deal, and the only question mark is whether he will come back to Barcelona in January or next summer as a free agent.

Yet the report reckons Barca are also thinking about landing a second center-back too, have been scouting Kamara for a long time now and have no doubts at all about his qualities.

Barca would surely have to offload a player or two if they were to be able to afford Kamara who has a price tag of around €25m-€30m. The club are likely to face stiff competition with both Bayern Munich and Manchester City also said to be keen on the Marseille star.
