A bombshell from the Brazilian

Neymar dropped a bit of a bombshell after helping Paris Saint-Germain to a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian pitched up for his post-match interview and spoke about how his greatest desire at the moment is to be reunited on the pitch with Lionel Messi.

“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch. He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season.”

There’s been plenty of speculation about the futures of both players, but there’s no doubt that Neymar’s latest comments are likely to increase rumors about the pair.

Messi’s future is unclear after a summer where he told the club he wanted to leave. The captain ended up staying but is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Argentine’s future plans are unclear but there’s already been talk of a move to Manchester City, while January’s presidential elections may play a key role in any future decision.

Neymar has been regularly linked with a move back to the Camp Nou, although it’s difficult to see how Barca could afford to bring the Brazilian back right now. He’s currently contracted to PSG until 2022 and is reportedly in talks over a new five-year deal.
