Barcelona have reportedly begun contract talks with Ousmane Dembele. The report comes to us via ESPN and details how Barca are keen on extending the winger’s contract with it ending in 2022.

The on again, off again, relationship between Barca and Dembele will likely continue for some time. The recovery process from Dembele’s multiple injuries has left the long-term relationship between the two parties in question.

Barcelona have been more than willing in the last year to help Dembele move on from the club if he wanted too. It seems like his stubbornness to succeed at the Camp Nou was part of the reason he stayed.

It’s also been tough to gauge whether or not Barca were committed to the long-term rehabilitation of Dembele at the club or working towards selling him. It seems like they’ve been impressed with his early season performances and are interested in extending his deal.
