Arda Turan: Right now I am a Barcelona player

Arda Turan has confirmed that he is indeed still a Barcelona player after seeing his contract with Istanbul Basaksehir annulled in January.

The midfielder moved on a two-and-a-half-year loan deal in January 2018 but after a pretty hectic time in Turkey saw his contract ended early.

Arda is technically contracted to Barca until the summer but is looking forward to getting back to playing next season.

“Right now I am a Barcelona player as I’m still under contract. It was a mutual decision. I wanted to remain under contract with Barça,” he said.

“I’ll probably continue playing at a foreign club next season, a club outside of Turkey but if Galatasaray call me, I’ll be delighted to help and without any conditions. Galatasaray is the only club who I would join without conditions.”

The 33-year-old also took time out to talk about Lionel Messi, describing the Barcelona captain as “the best player I have ever seen.”
