Former Barcelona B forward Abel Ruiz has been talking about his new team-mate Francisco Trincao and has told the Catalan giants what to expect from the 20-year-old.

Ruiz moved to Braga in January and says he gets on well with Trincao, who will move to Barcelona in January in a €31 million deal.

Here’s what Ruiz makes of his new team-mate:

“I would tell you that he looks like Messi, but you can’t compare anyone to Leo. He is the typical left-hander who has a good dribble, who is skilled. If he plays on the right, he goes inside and hits the whip. On the left he overlaps and scores many goals.

“I get along very well with him, he is a very good boy. He has a lot of personality, is a very good player and I’m sure that he will do very well at Barça.

“He has a lot of quality. He can come from anywhere, from the right or from the left, he has a very good shot ... he is very complete.

“He is more than ready [to play for Barca]. He can play perfectly there and will do very well. The planning for the next season is not yet known, but obviously he will have competition. In all great teams there are two great players per position so he will have to earn his position like everywhere else.”

Ruiz also took aim at Barcelona after leaving the club in January after eight years at the Camp Nou.

The 20-year-old said the club are “afraid to raise young players” which has made youngsters want to leave in search of game time elsewhere.
