Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman says he turned down a move to Barcelona after Ernesto Valverde was sacked.

Barcelona reportedly then offered the job to Xavi but were turned down and apparently also spoke to Koeman before appointing Quique Setien.

Koeman spoke about the situation on Tuesday at the UEFA Nations League draw:

“Yes, it’s true that Barca spoke to me but I said no because I’m with the national team (Holland) and I have a commitment to stay in charge,” he said.

The Dutchman has made no secret of the fact he’d like to manage Barca at some point and has also revealed that his contract contains a release clause that allows him to move to Camp Nou.
