Ousmane Dembele may be in the midst of a six-month layoff after undergoing surgery on a serious hamstring tear in February but that is not enough to put off Liverpool, according to the latest report.
Sport have the surprise claim that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a little bit in love with Dembele and wants to bring him to Anfield as he sees him as the “ideal reinforcement” for his attack.
Dembele has struggled with injury throughout his Barcelona career, but the report reckons Liverpool are still willing to make an offer of €90 million for the 22-year-old.
The report reckons that Barca had decided they would give Dembele another chance and would not allow him to leave in the summer.
However, the current coronavirus outbreak and the financial impact it will have on the club is likely to affect their transfer plans.
Indeed if a hefty offer were to arrive for Dembele in the next few months, which still seems unlikely given his injury problems, you suspect the club would be happy to let him go.
