Barcelona and Neymar continue to make headlines but the latest report suggests the Catalan giants can no longer afford to sign the Brazilian this summer.

Lluís Canut and Xavi Lemus at CatRadio report Barca “have ruled out” signing Neymar and will instead focus on bringing in Lautaro Martinez and renewing Lionel Messi instead.

The club don’t yet know the full scale of the financial hit they will take from the coronavirus pandemic but are aware it will affect their summer transfer plans.

Barca’s priorities are bringing in Lautaro as a replacement for Luis Suarez and extending Messi’s contract that currently expires in 2021.

The Spanish champions would also like to renew goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen but have no agreement with the Germany international just yet.

The report also states renewals for Nelson Semedo and Luis Suarez are also on Barca’s to do list, although they are obviously not as much of a priority.
