Samuel Umtiti’s future at Barcelona has drawn plenty of speculation this season due to concerns over his knee injuries, but the latest update suggests he’s going nowhere.

Sport report that the Frenchman does not want to leave the Camp Nou and is not interested in listening to any offers when the transfer window reopens.

Indeed he’s all over the front page with the headline: ‘Umtiti Stands Firm.’

The 26-year-old is aware that Barcelona want to sign a central defender, but he feels he can rediscover his best form at the club and become a regular fixture in the starting XI once again.

Premier League side Manchester United are mentioned as possible admirers, but the report reckons they have lost interest because of his knee troubles and his desire to stay.

Another reason why Umtiti could stay is his asking price. Barca valued him at €50 million before the coronavirus pandemic, a fee no team is likely to be able to meet now.
