Real Betis have confirmed they are interested in signing Pedri, who is due to join Barcelona from Las Palmas in July.

The 17-year-old has been a regular for the Canary Islanders this season, scoring three goals in the Segunda Division.

Real Betis sporting co-ordinator Alexis Truijillo has spoken about the teenager and admitted he is in their thoughts for next season.

“The definitive planning is not finished, much remains to be seen. We have to see how we return and how we finish.

“Pedri is a boy who we have seen has come onto the market and is playing very well. He has good technical conditions, is at a great level. But in football, everything depends on the needs you may have.”

Previous reports have suggested that Pedri would do pre-season with Barcelona and a decision would then be taken on whether he would stay with the club or head out on loan again.
