Barcelona’s pursuit of Neymar and Lautaro Martinez continues to make headlines in Spain with the Inter Milan forward once again front page news.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona believe it will be easier to sign Lautaro this summer than bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona’s highest priority this summer is to bring in a replacement for 33-year-old Luis Surarez, and Martinez is the “chosen one” who is also be said to be keen to move.
The Argentinian is also seen as being far more affordable than Neymar. He currently earns €2m at Inter Milan, while Barca are planning to offer him €7m.
Meanwhile, Neymar would have to lower his wages significantly to achieve a move to Barcelona. He is said to command a salary of €36m.
MD also reckon that age may play a factor in Barcelona’s thinking. Neymar turned 28 in February, while Martinez is still only 22.
