Barcelona B coach Francisco Javier García Pimienta is reportedly set to extend his stay with the club and sign a contract extension that keeps him at the Camp Nou until June 2022.
The Catalans had already decided to offer García Pimienta a new deal before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic and are now close to an agreement.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old is happy to continue in his role and will sign on for another two years, according to Mundo Deportivo.
García Pimienta has been doing a fine job with Barcelona B since taking over the job from Gerard Lopez in 2018 and had his team in second place when the tournament was halted.
The RFEF have since confirmed Barca B will take part in the promotion play-offs which will be played behind closed doors, at a neutral venue and in a one-off match.
Barca B will play Peña Deportiva de Ibiza, Valladolid B or Yeclan. If they were to progress they would have to win two more matches to secure promotion.
