Carles Alena says he is not thinking about his future right now but believes it would be “crazy” to close the door on a Real Betis stay.

The midfielder moved on loan to Betis in the winter and has gone on to make 10 appearances in all competitions for Rubi’s men.

Alena’s deal does not include a purchase option, but the 22-year-old has made it pretty clear he’s been enjoying life at the Benito Villamarín Stadium.

“It would be crazy if I closed the door to Betis. I am very happy, I love the city, I had my first son here and I’m delighted with how the players are treated at the club. I’m happy here and I don’t want to think about the future.”

There has been speculation that Betis could try to keep Alena for another season, while the Barcelona loanee will be hoping to play a part in Betis’ last 11 games if La Liga does resume.
