Lionel Messi has once again praised Lautaro Martinez and likened the Inter striker to Luis Suarez in his recent interviews with Sport and Mundo Deportivo.
The Barcelona captain said he does not know if Barca are in talks with Inter Milan over a move for Martinez despite intense speculation the club want to land the Inter striker.
“To be honest, I don’t know if there have been or are any negotiations. I have no idea,” he said.
“I have already said it, Lautaro is an impressive striker. I think he’s complete and has many qualities. He is very strong, dribbles well one on one, scores goals, knows how to protect the ball. In the box, he will fight anyone, he resists, turns around and leaves on his own.
“Lautaro is spectacular, you could tell that he would have become a great footballer, now he has exploded and is showing it.
“He is very similar to Luis Suarez, they both move very well and have the same way to finish. We will have to see what happens and with the other names that are circulating on the market.”

This is not the first time Messi has talked up Lautaro. He has said previously he’d be happy to have his compatriot at the club, while Luis Suarez has said he’d be welcome at Camp Nou
