Real Betis have reportedly been talking to Barcelona about the possibility of keeping hold of midfielder Carles Alena for another season.
Alena moved to the Benito Villamarín Stadium in the winter with the aim of getting some regular minutes but only managed eight appearances before the campaign was halted.
AS report Rubi’s side have been in touch to see if there’s any chance Alena could stay on and reckon the midfielder is open to staying at the club.
Indeed the 22-year-old said recently it would “be crazy” to close the door on a Real Betis stay which suggests the thought has crossed his mind.
Barcelona’s plans for the midfielder aren’t really clear, although there have been reports he could be included in any number of swap deals that are being rumored currently.
