Bayern Munich are reportedly planning on extending Philippe Coutinho’s loan from Barcelona until the end of August.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Bundesliga giants don’t want to sign the Brazilian permanently but are keen on keeping hold of him a little longer.

Coutinho’s loan deal expires at the end of June but Bayern want him to stay for two more months, with UEFA hoping to resume and complete the Champions League in August.

Europe’s top competition was halted midway through the last 16 stage. Bayern are in good shape to progress after a 3-0 first leg win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Coutinho is currently recovering from ankle surgery and is not expected back for a few more weeks, although he was back running at the training ground on Monday.
