Barcelona manager Quique Setien will reportedly decide whether the club should keep hold of Jean-Clair Todibo this summer.

The centre-back has spent the season on loan at Schalke, although it seems unlikely the club will be able to afford to activate the €25 million purchase clause in his contract.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club want Setien to see Todibo in action before deciding whether he should be sent out on loan again or sold to the highest bidder.

The decision to loan Todibo in January was made before Setien’s arrival, and Eric Abidal feels the coach should at least get the chance to see the defender and form an opinion.

Todibo has been linked with several clubs across Europe already, while Barca are said to view him as a potential “gold mine.”

There have also been reports Ronald Araujo will be promoted to the first XI next season, but MD’s report suggests there may still be a glimmer of hope for Todibo at Barcelona.
