Brescia’s president has revealed that FC Barcelona made a substantial offer for Sandro Tonali, which was ultimately rejected.

Massimo Cellino said that before the outbreak of coronavirus in Europe, “Barcelona had offered 65 million [euros] plus two very promising lads valued at 7 and a half each, [of which] one was a defensive player.”

“I believe that the Catalan leaders received an answer that they did not like. And not from Tonali,” Cellino added.

Tonali is a hot commodity in the transfer window, and Cellino claims several big clubs are still in for him.

“[PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi] would like Tonali in Paris. He wrote to me again today, but he doesn’t want to go to France. Inter Milan and Juventus are the destinations he prefers. [Napoli chairman Aurelio] De Laurentiis has offered me 40 million, Fiorentina is ready to go to any lengths for him, but their fate is already sealed,” the Italian said.
