Barcelona are reportedly already “convinced” that Pedri can play a role in the first-team next season in La Liga.

The 17-year-old is due to arrive at the Camp Nou at the end of the season after enjoying a bright campaign in Las Palmas.

He’s played 33 times for Pepe Mel’s side, scoring three goals along the way as well as producing some impressive assists.

Sport are reporting that Barcelona are expecting Pedri to be part of the first-team squad next season and will give him a shirt number after pre-season.

The club have been particularly impressed by his recent performances and reckon “he could explode onto the scene during preseason.”

There has been interest from other clubs but Barca aren’t interested in listening right now and see him as a similar player to Andres Iniesta.
