New Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has reportedly spoken with striker Luis Suarez this morning and told the 33-year-old he’s not in his plans for next season.

According to RAC1, the club now plan to meet with Suarez’s lawyers to try and terminate his contract at the club which runs until the end of next season.

Suarez had spoken about his future in an interview at the weekend. He told El Pais that nobody had asked him to leave, but it appears Koeman has now done exactly that.

Indeed Suarez had said he’d be willing to stay and sit on the bench, but it doesn’t appear that’s an option as Barca’s finances mean they need to offload his wages.

Fabrizio Romano reckons Suarez could be on his way shortly.

There’s no clear idea yet of where Suarez might go. He’s been linked with MLS clubs and former side Ajax, while Sport reckon he could be headed to Serie A.
