Luis Suarez’s future at Barcelona continues to make plenty of headlines, and it’s still not clear where the 33-year-old will play his football next season.
Sport bring an update on the Uruguay international’s future on Monday. The striker’s on the front page along with the headline ‘Maximum Tension.’
The report is how Barcelona are pressing Suarez to accept an offer from Juventus, but the striker is dragging his heels and wants the final year of his contract paid off first.
Sport reckon “the tension between the club and Suárez is increasing,” although the striker continues to train hard despite the uncertainty over his future.
Barca want Suarez to follow in Ivan Rakitic’s footsteps and give up the final year of his contract, but the 33-year-old disagrees because he was not intending on leaving this summer.
All of which means that Suarez is not as close to an exit as reports in Italy have suggested, and the striker is still considering his next move.
The report also states it’s not out of the question Suarez stays at Barcelona, but if he does he could spend the campaign watching on from the sidelines as he’s not in Koeman’s plans.
