Lyon have reportedly opened talks with Barcelona about a loan move for former defender Samuel Umtiti.
French newspaper L’Equipe reports the Ligue 1 club are in negotiations with Barcelona about a temporary deal with an option to buy for the center-back.
Umtiti is a player Barcelona seem keen to get off the wage bill but have struggled to find buyers due to his recent injury problems.
The defender was sidelined again at the end of last season with more knee trouble but is now back in Barcelona training.

Umtiti has always made it clear he wants to stay at Barcelona but could be tempted by a return to France. He came through the ranks at Lyon before joining Barca in 2016.
Lyon have admitted recently that they may struggle to afford to sign Umtiti, but it’s possible he could be used as part of a deal to sign Memphis Depay.
Barca are said to still be keen to sign an attacker in this transfer window now Luis Suarez has left.
