Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was on press conference duty for the Netherlands on Thursday which predictably brought lots of questions about Barcelona.
Speculation persists that Ronald Koeman wants to make the 29-year-old his first signing since replacing Quique Setien at the Camp Nou.
Wijnaldum didn’t particularly want to talk about his future though. He simply smiled and batted away the questions with a simple: “It’s a rumor, I have nothing to say about it.”
Sport are reporting today that Wijnaldum has given Barcelona the OK to make the move, but the Catalan giants haven’t started negotiations with the Reds yet.
The report reckons Liverpool will only sell if they can bring in Thiago, while Barcelona have to make some room in the squad and don’t want to pay more than €15m.
