Barcelona are reportedly hoping to announce new contracts for teenagers Ansu Fati and Pedri in the coming days.
President Joan Laporta told RAC1 last week that the renewals for both players were on track and he was hoping to have good news for fans shortly.
Pedri could be up first as he’s already agreed economic terms and all that needs to be decided now is the length of the contract, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The report reckons that the 18-year-old will sign on for another five years which will keep him at the club until at least 2026.
Ansu should then follow with Barca having a meeting scheduled with his agent, Jorge Mendes, this week to finalize his new contract.
It’s thought Barca will offer the 18-year-old a shorter contract, because of the club’s financial problems, which will be reviewed once the economic situation has improved.
Barca want to have both deals done by Sunday and will then turn their attentions to securing the future of another couple of yongsters.
MD report that Ronald Araujo and Gavi are next in line. Both players have contracts that run until 2023 but are also seen as key players for the club’s future.
