Andrea Pirlo was one of the more surprising names mentioned as a possible replacement for Ronald Koeman when the rumor mill went a bit crazy before the international break.

The former Italy international was sacked after just one season in charge of Juventus where he oversaw wins in the Coppa Italia and Suppercoppa Italiana but could only lead his team to fourth place in Serie A.

It’s the first time in 10 years that the Turin giants had missed out on the title with Inter Milan finishing top of the pile, some 13 points ahead of Juventus in the end.

Pirlo’s agent has now opened up on the rumors about a possible move to Barcelona and, perhaps unsurprisingly, is refusing to rule anything out.

Rumors surrounding Koeman’s future have gone a little quiet due to the international break and with president Joan Laporta having come out and publicly backed the Dutchman again.

However, you can expect all that to change pretty quickly if Koeman can’t turn results and performances around, particularly with Ansu Fati now back to full fitness and Sergio Aguero expected to return at the weekend.

Barca have a tricky fixture list to negotiate in the coming weeks too. Valencia, Dynamo Kiev, and Real Madrid are up next, while Barca must face Celta, Espanyol, Benfica and Villarreal in November.
