A report from Sport this week details Barcelona’s offseason transfer dealings in Manchester. Most thought that sporting director Mateu Alemany was in England to negotiate a potential move for Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani.
However, the report details that instead, Barca were working on a move for City’s Raheem Sterling. The deal was targeted to be a loan move and that despite his large wage hit, he was going to be affordable.
Now that the relationship between the two parties is still great, Sterling is into a move that would give him more playing time at a big club and is said to be “crazy” about Barcelona.
The England star has fallen down the pecking order at City and a move to a Barca attack with a desperate need for talent would be good for him in his eyes. It’s said that a possible loan move in January is currently on the table.
