Barcelona are reportedly “pushing as hard as possible” to agree a contract renewal with Ousmane Dembele whose current deal expires next summer.

There were previous reports about this situation that seemed to paint a picture as one wherein Barcelona were in the difficult situation of attempting to negotiate with an injured youngster who’s had a tough time of it at the club.

According to the report, there has actually been some distance closed between the two sides recently. Barca have apparently put forward a contract that would see him stay till 2024 on a salary that would make him one of the highest-paid players at the Camp Nou, IF, he stays “fit and performs as expected”.

Barca would love to get a deal done sooner rather than later and see his renewal as an “absolute priority,” but if they can’t agree an extension, expect plenty of Dembele transfer rumors come January.
