One could probably say that Barcelona need Xavi more than Xavi needs Barcelona at this point. That meant that Xavi had a bit of negotiating power when it came to letting the Barca higher-ups know what he wants in charge.

Sport are reporting that the first thing Xavi wants is a complete overhaul of the club’s medical services. Given that the club has had trouble with some of its players and recurring injuries, this can’t be a bad thing to take a second look at.

Ousmane Dembele, Gerard Pique, Pedri Sergi Roberto, and Martin Braithwaite are all currently sidelined, while a host of other players have also spent some time out this season with physical problems.

Xavi also wants to include the same backroom staff he had at Al Sadd and bring in additional help on the wing. Such as making sure Ousmane Dembele stays and perhaps bringing in Raheem Sterling or someone akin to the Manchester City winger.
