FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is looking for more firepower upfront and is reported to be requesting the signing of Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) and Memphis Depay (Lyon).

After the departure of Luis Suárez. Koeman asked for Depay. The two have worked together for the Netherlands national team before, which inspired confidence in the manager. However, a deal with Lyon was never agreed.

Now, he’s looking to sign Depay and one other center-forward. Haaland is the favorite, but Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku is also well-liked by the boss.

Koeman knows Lukaku from his time coaching Everton. Evidently, the manager would want a physical #9 upfront, which right now, is missing from the squad apart from Martin Braithwaite, who has mainly played off the bench.

On the other hand, another player Koeman knows form his past - Georginio Wijnaldum - may be drifting from signing with the Catalans. He was heavily linked with a move from Liverpool last summer, but it seems that the emergence of Ilaix Moriba could fill the need Koeman sensed in the squad.
