Mingueza’s operated as both a center-back and a right-back in his debut season after making his way up through Barcelona B.
It is understood that the club has an option to unliterally renew his contract if they execute an option before May 31st that would keep Mingueza at the Camp Nou until 2023.
The report says it is unthinkable that the club’s top brass, led by new president Joan Laporta, would let the opportunity pass them by. It is fully expected that Mingueza’s contract will be extended. He is already on a higher salary after playing 15 games for the first team.
Several teams are interested in the youngster, with Real Betis, Sampdoria, and Brighton said to be eyeing a move should he be available for any reason.
