Barcelona come up with Emerson plan - report

The defender is wanted back at the Camp Nou

Barcelona are busy planning for next season now Joan Laporta has been installed a president and thoughts have reportedly turned to Emerson.

The defender is currently enjoying a good season with Real Betis but is scheduled to make the move to the Camp Nou this summer.

Barca are said to be keen to bring in Emerson but will have to shell out €9 million to take sole ownership of the 22-year-old, according to Goal.

The club will then decide whether Emerson will spend the season at Barcelona or simply be sold to the highest bidder.

The report claims that Paris Saint-Germain have already registered an interest and Barca could do business if the French champions stumped up €25m.

The future of Sergi Roberto could also have an impact on the situation. Roberto’s current contract expires in 2022, meaning Barca need to extend or sell at the end of the season.
