Francisco Trincao’s arrival at Barcelona was eagerly anticipated after an impressive spell with Braga last season but the youngster has found it difficult to make an impression at the Camp Nou in 2020-21.

The Portugal international has been a regular off the bench for Ronald Koeman’s side but has only made two La Liga starts and doesn’t look like forcing his way into the starting XI on a regular basis any time soon.

Ousmane Dembele’s return to fitness and Koeman’s recent switch in formation has not helped Trincao’s cause and there are now whispers that Barca could loan Trincao out next season.

There was talk at the start of the campaign that Leicester City were willing to splash out on the youngster and those rumors seem to be back again due to Trincao’s lack of game time at the Camp Nou.

AS also report that “it is logical” that Barca must now “rethink” Trincao’s future. The Catalan giants are reportedly considering a loan in order to give Trincao the playing time and confidence he needs.

Trincao only turned 21 in December and is contracted to the club until 2025 so it would not be a big surprise if the youngster was loaned out next season. Barca’s financial situation means the club may also be tempted if an offer arrives for a player who cost the club €31 million.
