Jean-Clair Todibo admits that he would like to stay with current side Nice after his loan deal with Barcelona expires in the summer.

The defender joined the Ligue 1 club on loan in January after a dismal time with Benfica and has been enjoying regular football with Les Aiglons.

He’s now been asked about his future and admits that he would like to stay with Nice but is not sure if that is what will happen.

“I want to stay, that’s what I want,” he said. “But we have to ask the directors. Personally, I am very focused on the end of the season.”

Todibo’s loan deal includes an option to buy for €8.5 million, plus €7 million in variables, although it remains to be seen if Nice will take up the option to sign Todibo permanently.

Meanwhile, Barca are expected to boost their defensive options in the summer by signing Eric Garcia on a free transfer.
