Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has formaly told the club that he wants to leave this summer, and Barcelona are one of the four teams to have made contact to express their interest in the player, according to The Times.

Kane prefers to stay in England, which is why Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, the other three clubs mentioned in the report as interested parties, are believed to have an upper hand on Barça. Spurs believe they can get as much as £150 million for the Premier League’s top goalscorer, which would make it difficult for Barça to truly join the race considering their financial issues.

But it is interesting to see Barça mentioned in this report (which comes from a reliable source, it must be said) because it shows Joan Laporta really wants to sign a big star this summer. Major surgery is needed in the rest of the squad but Laporta would love to make a splash, and although Erling Haaland is the dream and Kane is probably not coming, it seems clear the new president is dead set on making such splash.
